Jaqee kommt mir mit beschwingtem Schritt entgegen und weil sie sieht dass ich sie sehe sieht sie mich auch. Und wo wir uns nun schon so schön in die Augen sehen spreche ich sie natürlich an. Sie kommt aus Schweden, sagt sie; „also eigentlich aus Uganda, aber jetzt lebe ich in Schweden.“ In Köln ist sie nur kurz; sie ist Sängerin, und zum einen ist ihr Platten- label hier und zum anderen hatte sie gerade einen Live-Gig im Funkhaus Europa mit einem befreundeten Musikprojekt; den Koala Desperados. Und wie auf’s Stichwort stehen die auch sofort neben uns. Ob ich sie im Netz finden kann frage ich sie; sie lacht und nickt, und als ich später nach- sehe finde ich meine Frage auch lustig. Bei you tube gibt es eine Vielzahl Videos von ihr, und ich habe einfach mal 2 raus- gepickt; Karma und White Rabbit, weil der weiße Hase neulich hier schon mal Thema war. Und wem das noch nicht reicht; hier gibt’s ein Interview mit Jaqee. Auf meine Lieblingsfrage antwortet sie, dass ihr Verbindung mit anderen wichtig ist; „Gute Freunde zu haben, mit denen man so sein kann wie man wirklich ist, die einen genau so akzeptieren.“ Sie liebt ihren Beruf, und auch das Reisen, auch wenn sie es nicht immer leicht findet: „Ich versuche mich auf die Orte, in denen ich bin, einzutunen. Wenn das gelingt ist es gut, wenn nicht… dann kann es hart sein.“

Jaqee comes my way with dynamic gait and for the reason that she realizes me looking at her, she looks at me as well. And as we yet started looking at each other I approach her of course. She’s from sweden, she says; „Well natively I’m from Uganda, but I live in sweden now.“ She’s only for a few days in cologne; she is a singer and for one thing her label is located here and for another thing she had a live gig at Funkhaus Europa, a radio station, with the Koala desperados, a music project she is inolved in. And right on cue these guys stand beside us immediately. If I can find her in the internet, I ask her, and she laughs and nods. Later, looking for her at google, I also think it’s a funny question. At you tube you find a huge number of her videos, and I picked out just 2 of them; Karma and White Rabbit, because this song was mentioned before here already. And for those who want even more; here is an interview with Jaqee. On my favorite question she replys that relationship is really important to her; „Having good friend, who loke you the way you are, who really accept you, that means a lot to me.“ She loves her profession, and travelling around, although it isn’t always easy; „I try to tune into the places I visit. If that works it’s fine. If not… it can be rough.“
